Back to Cape Townthe last days of the holiday
A queue for photos at the Instagram bench in Clifton, a farewell dinner, and my friend flies home while we stay to live here.

The last, eleventh chapter of the South Africa holiday. From George we flew back to Cape Town and checked in at Bantry Bay, the neighbourhood on the ocean next to Sea Point.
The Instagram bench in Clifton
First we went to the famous Instagram bench in Clifton. It’s very close by. The view from there is beautiful, and of course there’s a real queue for photos on that bench.
A group of tourists was posing in front of us, for about forty minutes, with three or four devices, and they weren’t planning to leave. I had to negotiate for them to pause for a moment and let us take photos. We got it done in about ten minutes, and they carried on. They said they’d been waiting for this shoot for several days.
I understand, but they aren’t the only ones there. If you need a big shoot with equipment and several devices, it’s better to arrange something or to book the spot officially. But we negotiated, got our photos, and that was that. It was beautiful.

The farewell dinner
In the evening we had a farewell dinner at a restaurant, our last evening as three.
The holiday is over
The next day we saw one friend off home. And the other friend and I stayed in Cape Town, no longer on holiday, but to live. But that’s another story.
What I think about this trip and about South Africa as a whole is in the epilogue.
