At first my travels were pretty typical for the time — around Europe. Then covid happened and everything closed. Morocco was one of the first countries to let tourists back in — and it was the first country I visited with a completely different culture. After that I became genuinely curious about exploring cultures.
Before covid I worked in an office. During covid I realised I really like working remotely — I think a lot of people did. And I’m actually good at it. So why sit at home all the time?
By the end of covid I wanted to live in other countries for long stretches. I deliberately found a new job where I could work remotely — and off I went.
A new little life
Since then I’ve lived for months at a time in the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Bali, Morocco and South Africa.
It’s like living a new little life. A short holiday doesn’t let you understand a place this deeply. When you live there even a little, you sink much further into the country’s culture.
The hardest part is always the first round of research. You need to work out how long you can stay and what it takes, how to handle immigration, where to look for housing, and what the safety and etiquette rules are. Every country has its own quirks.
How I travel
No all-inclusive and no tourist traps. I’m interested in nature, culture, people, food and all kinds of activities. I travel with friends and on my own. I like group tours too — as long as the group isn’t twenty people.
Why this site
I want to share my experience honestly — as whole stories. I only started telling stories on Instagram in September 2026; before that it was mostly pretty pictures with short captions. That’s not enough to plan a trip. So here you’ll find routes, prices, mistakes and what I’d do differently.
